7 Best Christmas Lights on Oahu - Neighborhood Guide 2023

The holiday season is here! We're wanted to share a simple guide to the best Christmas light displays in Oahu. May you cherish these moments with your friends and loved ones.

1. Honolulu Hale City Lights

A hallmark of the holiday season in Honolulu, the Honolulu City Lights at Honolulu Hale are back and brighter than ever. Don't miss the majestic 50-foot pine tree and the beloved Shaka Santa and Tutu Mele figures, celebrating their 39th year of holiday cheer. Along with a varitey of lighting attractions both inside Honolulu Hale and throuout the grounds. 

There's some scattered street parking in the area, but another option is parking in the Civic Center Manicipal lot with metered parking.

2. Kaneohe's Christmas Tree Lane

 

Venture to Namoku Street in Kaneohe, where the houses uniquely contribute to a stunning display of lights and decorations. From life-size Santas to mythical creatures and popular characters, it's a whimsical world of festive delight. And such a pleasure to see such a strong community coming together to help brightern everyones evenings during the holiday season. You can either cruise the lane by car, or park nearby and stroll along to see all of the beautiful intricacies up close.

3. Kailua's Light Symphony

The homeowners of Akumu Street in Kailua have been known to offer a feast for the eyes and ears with over 10,000 lights dancing to Christmas tunes. This synchronized light show is said to be a must-see spectacle on the Windward side of the island. However, when we went, it didn't seem to be active quite yet. (as of 12/9/23) Although there were a couple homes with fun and vibrant light displays.

4. Waikiki Trolley Light Tour

Another go-to classic. Experience the lights in style aboard the Waikiki Trolley with tours running nightly in December, it’s a perfect way to view Honolulu’s decorations, including a stop at the festive Winter Wonderland. The Trolly commonly also visits the Honolulu Hale, so this could be a great way to hit a couple of attractions at once. The price is $30 for adults and $20 for kids ages 3-11.

5. Show Aloha Land at Aloha Stadium


The Show Aloha Land light show at Aloha Stadium, which began in 2020 as a creative solution during the pandemic, has become a beloved part of Oahu's holiday light displays. Picture yourself driving through a stunning arrangement of over 2.5 million LED lights, all synchronized to festive music. Along with this enchanting journey, you have the chance to take a photo with Santa, enjoy snow tubing, and experience a thrilling zip-line ride. Tickets are approximately $52 per vehicle, or $

6. Waikele's Anapau Place

Famous for its coordinated light show, Anapau Place in Waikele is a must-visit for an immersive holiday experience. The street's festive spirit even caught national attention on ABC's “The Great Christmas Light Fight”. It features a choreographed light show with coodianted lights lining the entire street. This truly is a spectacular holiday experience. 

7. Kapolei City Lights

 Celebrate at Kapolei Hale with "A Westside Wonderland," featuring indoor and outdoor decorations that reflect the cultural heritage of Leeward communities. The Opening Night Block Party is a festive extravaganza not to be missed.
